5.5kW Enphase Microinverter system upgrade in Lakewood, CO.

Originally, this homeowner contacted us to see about getting this system going after they inherited it with the home.  The system had not been working for some years. We first tried to replace the Envoy communications device and moved it closer to the microinverters so that they would have their best communication.  This worked for a day and then quit.  After talking with Enphase tech. support, we determined that the microinverters would no longer work without a full system upgrade.  We helped the homeowner get into the Enphase upgrade program where they offer a highly dicounted price for replacement microinverters directly to homeowners.  Once they received the replacements, we installed them, running new cabling and also installing a new IQ gateway communications device.  In addition, we installed the whole home energy monitoring that is part of the IQ gateway.  This all took about a day for a crew of three solar technicians to complete.   We then updated their online system so that the monitoring would show the output of each and every panel independently.  In addition, the monitoring also shows how much power their home is using.  Now they produce most of their power from the sun.
